All things in life take work. Love is no less a work in progress than the rest of life’s important things. A marriage is strengthen by work. It can’t last without maintenance, it becomes stagnant and doesn’t grow.

Love and War Devotional For Couples is a great little book to help you easily incorporate the work it takes to cultivate your love for your spouse. This devotional from John and Stasi Eldredge is a quick and simple exercise in daily maintenance for your marriage. Eight weekly readings are scheduled for five days each week. A good quick reading for someone whose marriage is not in trouble but who wants to keep the flame alive.

As a note I do want to mention this is pretty much a devotional to be used one sided. What I mean by this is that you read it and then apply it to your marriage. If you are looking for something not too in depth then this might just be perfect for your situation.

My Hubby, My Dear

And he is training my daughter to be a helpmeet to a future husband and to be a joyful blessing.

I have been having a difficult year and my husband, who works thirds, has been amazing in stepping in to pick up my slack. He even is quick to let me know I am not a burden even though I feel like one.

He has had a rough year himself with the military and is more than likely getting discharged. While it saddens me and I will be honest it breaks my heart, I know that this is a decision he needs to make on his own. I do not want to push him into doing what I want just to satisfy my selfish ambitions. I refuse to be like Lot’s Wife and instead will trust my Hot Hubby to lead his family right where we belong.

I pray I can always show him the love in my heart and the appreciation I have for him. I thank God for sending me such a Hot Hubby!

Lead Me

I am so overwhelmed, we finally have a reliable Christian radio station in my area now! Praise God. This is a FM station that I was able to get but only in certain areas and while it was such a blessing to me it can now be an even greater blessing to others as well. 
One of my favorite bands they play is Sanctus Real. I have never heard their song “Lead Me” yet it has touched me in such a profound way. I have had such a difficult time with Biblical Submission. I desperately want to have my husband as the leader of our home but I have spent so long being In Control.
This song is so much to me. It is for me and for my husband and for our children. I wish so for the peace and strength that comes from the Lord. Some days I just want to fall to my knees and pray but I can’t bring myself before Him that way. I pray yes but I feel weird going on my knees even though I know that is what I must do.

Happy Anniversary to us

I am so excited about our ultrasound coming up in 2 days. I can't wait to hold the precious gift growing inside me! Today was my anniversary, hubby & I have been married 8 years. He is so sweet he woke me with roses and a card. I love him so very much.
