Yay! My favorite topic, books! I love to read and discovering great books is a wonderful way to spend my evenings. I grew up immersing my self in great fiction. I spent many nights up until dawn lost in a world of make believe.
I received a copy of the first book in The Peleg Chronicles called Foundlings to review. It is a New Earth, Creation based, Historical fiction story set in the years after The Great Flood and the Dispersion at Babel. There is no magic, no evolution, no humanism, just Noah’s God.
I personally enjoy stories with magic and I allow my children to read these also. After all ,many fairytales weave magic into the stories. I have to say I did not miss it one bit. I enjoyed this book and look forward to reading the the rest of the series. My boys expected it to have a lot of Biblical type miracles in it but enjoyed the adventure and suspense. Can you tell they are new to Christian Fiction? A little background from the back cover and website and all was right again. They are anxiously awaiting the movie, I told them it may be awhile.
“Foundlings weaves together the Biblical
principles of chivalry, truth, courage, duty,
faith and love within the framework of Genesis,
and a bold adherence to its historicity. It's an
exciting page turner that leaves you wanting
more, but more importantly it leaves the
reader with Godly heroes to think on and
emulate, and a young earth creationist view of
history that conforms to the Word of God.”
This book comes from Matthew Christian Harding, a homeschooling father, who has come from a past so full of darkness, mystery, and pain. Throughout his life he had repeated encounters with the Lord and in adventure after adventure he kept coming across God’s way. His personal testimony can be read here.
