I have been trying to change our habits since my son was diagnosed with type 1 diabetes two years ago. I have been looking into herbal remedies and whole foods but have not been able to learn enough to be comfortable with applying what I have learned. It is a seemingly overwhelming amount of information.
I was so thrilled to be able to look over Vintage Remedies For Kids. What better way to learn about these things than by starting at the beginning with the very basics. Geared toward the ages of 2-6, Vintage Remedies For Kids is divided into three sections.

- Section Two - Health & Wellness
- Section Three – Healthy Lifestyles
Each chapter includes an overview for parents, a section to be read to the children, extension activities for older students, examples of how to apply the lesson daily, a list of review questions to extend learning, and a couple of practical application projects.

Seriously the best I have seen. It is simple, concise, and perfect for my 33 month old daughter, 9 year old son, and 16 year old son. They all get something out of it. The projects are perfect, my children find them fun and interesting and not over their heads (in the little’s case). I find it is just the right amount of information to digest at a time and at 194 pages a great length for an introductory course in herbal remedies, whole food, healthy living. I have to add my favorite sections were the projects, making butter, yogurt cheese, and Blue Bath Scrubbies were just a few that I know my children will always remember fondly. My only addition would be to include an index of the projects for quick reference since I can see us making these repeatedly.
