In synopsis Oklahoma is one of the easiest states to homeschool in. It is the only state which has specifically provided in it’s constitution a guarantee to the right to homeschool. There are no requirements for teacher oversight or teacher qualifications (meaning that the homeschooling parents does not need specific qualifications to teach), standardized testing is not required, nor certain subjects taught. The only requirement is a compulsory attendance of 180 days for ages 5-18. It is suggested the school calendar and subjects match that of equivalency to the public school. Which basically means to ensure your students are adequately taught the basics of Language Arts, Mathematics, Science, and Social Studies.
