Compulsory attendance: Between the ages of 6 and 17 inclusive unless exempt by either request or graduation from school.
Required Days/Subjects: 180 days and subjects not specified in grades K-12 if operating under church cover school. If not then grades 9-12 must be taught either college prep material or general course subjects.
There are 4 options by which to homeschool and while I won’t go into detail the most regulated is to operate outside of a church cover school. You would need to register, take attendance, submit vaccine records, and provide at least 4 hours of instruction each day. The content and scope of curriculum is not required to be inspected.
There are teacher qualifications depending on which option you use to homeschool the least of which is a high school diploma or GED. Grades 5,7, and 9 are required to submit standardized testing and the results may be used to prescribe remedial courses. These must be the same tests given to the local school district children. This only applies to certain options as well.
Disclaimer: In no way is this the only info you need. Do your research and do your part to keep homeschooling free for all of us. This is for informational purposes only and not legal advice.
