Becoming a Godly Wife and Mother

There is an amazing study I am begining about Biblical submission. This is something I struggle with daily. Although my mother never worked outside the home until I was grown she was not what you'd call a biblical woman. I never learned many things that I wish I now had. I am looking forward to this study and in applying it to my life. As an introduction to the lesson and who I am I will be posting my progress and a bit more about myself.

I currently stay home with my 2 boys Brad13 & Connor 6. We are expecting our third child, a daughter, in March 09. It wasn't always this way though. I was an unwed teenage mom when I met my husband. We met in college and married when B was 5. I, at that point, was done with having kids, or so I thought. I remember a conversation with Craig, before we wed, about children. He had asked how many children I wished to have and without thinking I said none but maybe 1 more. I still to this day remember the crushed look on his face. Life of course moved on and God changed my heart, we tried and got pregnant with C. Craig was overjoyed and since then I have become convicted (in only the last year) to let God plan our family size. Craig, well God knew best when he led me to this wonderful, amazing, strong, independent, and humble man. I have spent most of our marriage getting my own way and eventhough he is a military man, Craig has always let me lead. I find it difficult to get him to lead us now that I see my sin. I am truly aiming to be a Proverbs 31 and Titus 2 minded woman and would love any fellow sisters to join me on my journey. Please visit Biblical Submission today to start on your own adventure toward being a woman after God's own heart. It will be worth it, I promise.

Hello and welcome to this wonderful study!

Our Sunny is such a loving and kind friend; I love her more every day. She has been a tremendous help to me in understanding God’s plan for submission.
I am so excited that you are joining us, and to get to know you. I like that you want to let God plan your family, what a wonderful attitude!

I read your post “It's All in God's Plans”, and I want to encourage you to continue to seek God and not be discouraged. I find comfort in this verse:
Psalm 37:25
I have been young, and now am old; yet have I not seen the righteous forsaken, nor his seed begging bread.

Love, Ernestine:)

Hello precious sister Mandy!

I'm so sorry it's taken me so long to stop by!

Been a busy week around here...phew! :-)

I wanted to be sure however to properly WELCOME you to our study! I see our wonderfully precious sister Ernestine beat me to welcoming you, but that's b/c she's got an incredible heart...just like all the other sisters in the study! We have such a wonderful group of sisters traveling this very challenging, but rewarding (heavenly treasures of course :-)) road to biblical submission.

I will post an announcement officially welcoming you on Monday. That way, everyone will be able to stop by and say "hello" to you!

I'm so delighted the Lord brought you to us!

I'll be praying for you!

Bless you dearly sister,
Sunny

Hi, I enjoyed your post and the thought that came to mind was that my husband was not a leader of the home until he turned forty. He is now sixty two and is the one every one turns to for leadership. I believe God uses us in His own timing. Being submissive is something I have always had to work on. If a woman wants their children to respect their Dad it is well worth the effort and prayers to be submissive. Doylene

I know you probably are too busy with your family and a baby on the way, but if you feel up to it…
Naomi has tagged me and on my blog, I have tagged you.
Do not feel bad if you are not up to this game. It is just a bit of fun getting to find out interesting details about each other.

Hello! Welcome to the study! I'm sorry that my greeting is delayed, but I've been on a short hiatus due to a move. I have to tell you that I can relate to your story. My mom was a single mom and was not always home and when she was, she wasn't the model of a biblical woman either. I felt totally unprepared to be a wife.

I'm also stubborn and headstrong, so it has been quite a pill for me to swallow to allow my husband to take the reigns. It is a daily struggle, but since I've begun this journey, my marriage has gotten closer and stronger.

I hope that this study can be as much of a help to you as it has been so far to me.

God bless,
Dusty
