My 8 year old son loved this and has learned almost all his times tables just by doing this program alone as we have only done about 1/4 on our own. He constantly wanted to “play” the math game. I mean he begged me some days. I see him doing 6X8 in his regular math and I am blown away by the fact that he knows it, by memory!
My 15 year old had some trouble and wasn’t crazy about it. He of course “already knows” his times tables. Uh, no son, sorry adding on your fingers doesn’t count. Really he did know almost all of them but he could use the practice. The problem came when he logged in with a different name. And this is my only real beef with the program. There is no actual user name to select you just type in a name and it starts the program from day one. Great when you begin, horrible when you can’t remember what you used and you are halfway through everything and have to start over.
I loved the way your student was assessed, worked through the program and re-assessed to check for understanding along the way. It even keeps a record of the learning and assessments, like a progress report. It is not just a memory system but a stand alone multiplication curriculum. Those of you who need mastery based math this one is for you. If you use spiral this would also fit in well as you can decide when you want to work on various fact families.
